Instructions
Make The Marinade
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), olive oil, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and rice vinegar.
Set aside 2 tbsp of the marinade for later (for a finishing sauce).
Marinate the Chicken (Optional for More Flavor)
Place chicken breasts in the marinade for 10-15 minutes (or up to overnight for deeper flavor).
Cook the Chicken
Stovetop Method (Quick & Easy)
Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add a little oil.
Add chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through (internal temp 165°F).
Pour the reserved marinade into the pan and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes (add cornstarch mixed with a little water if you want it thicker).
Oven Method (Hands-Off Cooking)
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Place chicken in a baking dish, pour the marinade over, and bake for 18-20 minutes.
Broil for the last 2 minutes for a nice glaze.
Serve & Enjoy!
Let chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice.
Garnish with green onions and serve with rice, steamed veggies, or a side of stir-fried noodles.
