Beat eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla (or other extract) until well combined.
Stir in flour and baking powder. Mix until smooth.
Add melted butter, mix well until smooth again. Batter will be thick and soft.
Heat pizzelle iron. Once hot, drop a small spoonful of the batter on the iron. Close the iron to bake the wafer. Check for doneness until you know about how long it should take for a golden brown wafer. Electric irons sometimes have an indicator depending on the heat level, adjust heat as needed.
Cool the wafers completely, they don't take long. Serve plain, drizzled with chocolate or dusted with powdered sugar.
