This is my grandmother's recipie for simple sugar cookies that go great with coffee OR tea.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda dissolved in 2 Tbsp warm water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Blend butter and sugar; add eggs.
  • Add flour & baking powder.
  • Add vanilla and soda water.
  • Roll out and cut.
  • Bake 10-15 minutes.
