
Churros
Enjoy this homemade churro, a crispy fried pastry coated in sugar-cinnamon or chocolate.
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups flour
- 250 ml water
- 50 g butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp sugar
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup sugar for traditional coating
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder for traditional coating
- Chocolate chip cookies for chocolate coating
Instructions
- Combine the water, sugar, salt, and butter in a pan and bring it to a boil.
- Once it boils, remove from the heat and mix in the flour immediately.
- Once it has cooled, add the eggs and mix until the dough becomes smooth.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a piping bag, fit it with a star tip and spoon in the dough.
- Once the oil is hot in a frying pan, pipe the dough into strips.
- Fry for about 4 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a container, mix the sugar and cinnamon powder for the coating.
- In another bowl, melt the chocolate for the coating.
- After the churros are cooked, you can coat them by either rolling them in the cinnamon sugar mixture or dipping them in chocolate.
- Enjoy the churros.
