Enjoy this homemade churro, a crispy fried pastry coated in sugar-cinnamon or chocolate.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¼ cups flour
  • 250 ml water
  • 50 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sugar for traditional coating
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder for traditional coating
  • Chocolate chip cookies for chocolate coating

Instructions
 

  • Combine the water, sugar, salt, and butter in a pan and bring it to a boil.
  • Once it boils, remove from the heat and mix in the flour immediately.
  • Once it has cooled, add the eggs and mix until the dough becomes smooth.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • In a piping bag, fit it with a star tip and spoon in the dough.
  • Once the oil is hot in a frying pan, pipe the dough into strips.
  • Fry for about 4 minutes or until golden brown.
  • In a container, mix the sugar and cinnamon powder for the coating.
  • In another bowl, melt the chocolate for the coating.
  • After the churros are cooked, you can coat them by either rolling them in the cinnamon sugar mixture or dipping them in chocolate.
  • Enjoy the churros.
