I made this when my oldest was starting to eat solids. Now we make it on the side for pork chops and just because. It’s amazing still warm from the stove.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large sweet apples – I like gala but honeycrisp are also great
  • 3/4 c water
  • 1/4 white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Wash apples well, as they won’t be peeled
  • Chop and core apples into large chunks (cut smaller if you don’t want any chunks of apple)
  • Combine all ingredients in large saucepan
  • Cover and cook on medium heat for 15-20 minutes until apples are fork tender
  • Cool for ten minutes in refrigerator
  • Place in food processor to blend until you get the desired texture, or use a potato masher if you want chunky sauce.
