Apple Strudel
One of my favorite non-chocolate desserts year around is apple strudel. It’s fast to make and delicious!
Ingredients
- 3 apples I use Granny Smith, but your favorite will do!
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup golden raisins
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 sheets puff pastry
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Peel all three apples.
- Chop two into thin slices.
- Shred the third apple.
- Mix all three apples in a bowl with your brown sugar, raisins, nuts, flour, and salt.
- Sometimes I will add cinnamon.
- Lay out the puffed pastry sheet.
- Down the center, pour in your apple filling.
- Cut each sides of your pastry dough into fringe like strips. Folding them over each other, layer them cross ways over your filling.
- Whisk your egg and milk together and brush over your pastry dough.
- Place your strudel on a pan lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes.
- Slice and serve warm with ice cream!
