
Malasadas
Ingredients
- 1 Pkg. Active Dry Yeast
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1/3 Cup Water
- 8 Cup Flour
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 Cups Scalded Milk
- 1/2 Cup Butter melted
- 8 Eggs beaten
- Crisco for frying
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast and the 1 tablespoon of sugar in warm water and set aside.
- In large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt. Make a well in the center.
- Add milk, butter, eggs and yeast mixture in the well.
- Combine all ingredients to form dough.
- Cover the bowl and let the dough rise until size doubles.
- Heat Crisco in deep fryer to 350 degrees.
- Drop balls of dough (make them as big or small as you want) into oil and fry until browned.
- Drain on paper towels then shake in a bag with sugar.
