Ingredients
  

  • 1 Pkg. Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup Water
  • 8 Cup Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 Cups Scalded Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Butter melted
  • 8 Eggs beaten
  • Crisco for frying

Instructions
 

  • Dissolve yeast and the 1 tablespoon of sugar in warm water and set aside.
  • In large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt. Make a well in the center.
  • Add milk, butter, eggs and yeast mixture in the well.
  • Combine all ingredients to form dough.
  • Cover the bowl and let the dough rise until size doubles.
  • Heat Crisco in deep fryer to 350 degrees.
  • Drop balls of dough (make them as big or small as you want) into oil and fry until browned.
  • Drain on paper towels then shake in a bag with sugar.
